Leadership Summit and Business Awards
The mission of the Business Work-Life Alliance of Ventura County is to strengthen and support local businesses and their employee’s families by promoting family-friendly work environments throughout Ventura County. On June 6, 2007, CDR and co-sponsors honored 20 local employers at the 2007 Work-Life Leadership Summit and Business Awards luncheon at the Spanish Hills Country Club. It was a very successful event and currently plans are underway for the 2008 Annual Leadership Summit and Business Awards that will be held on June 4, 2008. So mark your calendars! The process for selecting the award recipients begins with sending out the application in partnership with the Ventura County Economic Development Association to over 1,000 employers throughout the county. When all applications have been received, the Ventura County Business Work-Life Alliance members review them for new and innovative family-friendly employment policies and practices and select the companies to be honored. A wonderful luncheon is held that includes a keynote presentation on a topic of special interest to local businesses. Companies send a group of employee representatives to accept their award. Last year CDR received many compliments on the event’s program, location, and food. We expect to meet the same standards this year. The luncheon will be held again at the Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo on June 4, 2008.
